Some tick volumes and how they are plotted in TS2K are not correct. Four
(4) "bugs" that I have discovered are listed below. I have informed
Omega of these and if you are concerned about getting them fixed, let
Omega know by emailing them.
I have posted the first 2 of the bugs on this list, 13 July 1999 10:45,
but will summarize them here.
1.) There are ticks in TS2K recorded at 1600. THESE TICKS AT 1600 ARE
NOT INCLUDED IN TS2K CHARTS USING ANY MINUTE PLOTS (1, 5, 15 , etc.
minute plots). They are just omitted. (In TS 4 these same ticks were
included with those at 1559 and are used in all minute charts. There are
no ticks at 1600 in TS 4). In TS2K all tick volume charts (5, 25, 250,
etc.) use the 1600 ticks (except 1 tick volume which Omega chose not to
correct)! There is a Dribble column in GS-Edit Symbol-Sessions which, if
I understand it, allows these 1600 ticks to be cut off or not collected.
If this is the case, it is not a proper solution.
2.) All ticks at the opening of a stock are counted as up ticks EVEN IF
THE OPENING PRICE IS LOWER THAT THE PREVIOUS CLOSE. Not until a tick of
a lower price than the opening price does TS2K start counting ticks
correctly. See ABT on 7-06-99 at 9:34 or AMD on 7-15-99 at 9:34 when
both these stock had substantial down volume but it is counted as up
volume in ANY tick or minute chart.
3.) Some data at 1600 is not being plotted in 1 tick volume charts (and
probable other time frame charts). AMAT on 7-14, 15, and 16, 1999, shows
data in the "Edit Symbol"/ "Edit Data" window for 16:00. BUT FOR 7-15
THE 1600 DATA IS NOT PLOTTED WHEREAS IT IS FOR THE OTHER DATES. See
also, ABT 7-21-99, for which Edit Data shows data at 1600 but it is not
plotted whereas for other dates it is plotted.
4.) Some ticks are moved ahead, timewise, in TS2K as compare to other
Time&Sales (T&S) sources, including TS 4. See below.
Cyberian Outpost (COOL) on 7/15/99 near the end of 9:59 has tick volumes
listed as below:

TS2K moves many more ticks (and important ones) ahead as compared with
TS 4 and the reference Quote.com. (We are not considering missing ticks
here. In this example, they are all here). This makes for inaccurate
plots but I do not consider this be as detrimental as the first 3
"bugs". Also, TS2K at the end of 10:10 moved four ticks into 10:11 as
compared to TS 4. No doubt this happens often.
So now we have TS2K incorrectly dealing with ticks at the opening of the
session, the middle, and the end of the session.
The more important concern for me (and many others as shown on the omega
list) is the problem of the Server losing ticks in both TS2K and TS 4.
