Headline: The Miami Herald Reports Omega Research as the Leading Stock
Performer Among South Florida Companies For the First Half of 1999
======================================================================
MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 7, 1999--In its Sunday business
section in a feature article about south Florida's best-performing
stocks for the first half of 1999, The Miami Herald reported that
Omega Research, Inc. (NASDAQ:OMGA) was the best performer of all, with
a 267% increase in stock price from January 1 - June 30, 1999. The
article focused on south Florida companies that at least doubled in
value during the first half of this year.
The article stated that, in general, south Florida stocks are
"on a run," noting that the Miami Herald-Bloomberg Index of 29 south
Florida large, mid and small cap stocks "is making mincemeat out of
the Standard & Poor's 500 Index .... Through June 30, the
Herald-Bloomberg Index was up 21 percent, while the S&P 500 was up
6.4 percent."
Bill Cruz, Co-Chairman and Co-CEO, Omega Research, commented, "We
are encouraged by the results reported by The Miami Herald. At Omega
Research we have a very ambitious vision: To change the way the world
makes investment decisions through the utilization of investment
strategy back-testing. The publication of these types of results makes
it easier for us to attract and recruit the top talent we need to
continue to hire in order to execute on our vision. The milestone
release of our Omega Research ProSuite 2000i product line earlier this
year, which incorporates important technological advancements,
significant new functionality, and embraces the Internet, has clearly
enhanced our position as the leader in investment strategy
back-testing software."
Other south Florida companies included in the Herald's report
were: Andrx Corp. (NASDAQ:ADRX); Streicher Mobile Fueling
(NASDAQ:FUEL); Columbia Laboratories (AMEX:COB); Neff Corp `A'
(NYSE:NFF); and Boca Research (NASDAQ:BOCI).
