Each time you load a chart the number of bars reverts to the default you will
need to change the default setting.

With a chart as the active window go

 View | Chart Options

On the Symbol tab of the resulting box you will see Default days back with a
drop down menu for Compression and an entry window for Days, go to the
Compression you want to change I am assuming it's Daily in this case and enter
the number of Days you want charting to load by default. Default is 500 you can
increase or decrease it as desired.

Subject: Need help figuring out how to avoid changing Firts Date on t

Until today, my historical data was limited to 6 months. However, now its
been expanded to 2 years. Each night, I test my system using Workspace
Assistant, scanning over 1900 stocks to find those that are potential
candidates for trading with the system. The expansion of historical data
has brought up one very annoying problem that I cannot figure out a way to
solve.

While checking each security that had been selected by Workspace Assistant
tonight, I discovered that the Available Date Range on the Settings tab of
the Format Symbol menu for all stocks now shows as 06/26/1997 - 06/25/1999.
Since it showed a different date before today, I had no choice but to enter
that date (12/16/1998) into the First Date entry prior to today. That First
Date entry somehow wound up being applied to that system for all 1900+
stocks without my doing anything special as I recall.

However, tonight as I brought up each stock that the Workspace Assistant had
selected asa potential candidate for trading with the systewm, I had to
manually change the First Date entry for each symbol. I had to do this over
and over ad nauseum for every stock that I examined tonight. It's very
tedious.

Does anyone know a way that I can set the First Date to 06/26/1997 for all
symbols in my directory, so that I can avoid having to enter that date over
and over again as the Worspace Assistant reports them as potential
candidates? I'd very much appreciate someone letting me know.

With kindest regards,
