http://www.usps.gov has a link right at the top leading to 
http://www.usps.gov/news/press/99/99045new.htm , with the heading "E-
MAIL RUMOR COMPLETELY UNTRUE."

Please, people.  Check into these things before you forward them on 
to the world.  Dick, I suggest you mail a retraction to all the 
people you mailed this to (other than the Omega list :-) so they 
don't propagate the hoax any further.
