Abstract
This presentation focuses on applications of rough set
technology to databases. This emerging new technology
concerns the classificatory analysis of imprecise, uncertain
or incomplete data.  Rough set theory provides
efficient methods in mining relational databases.
As an illustration, the discovery of
predicative rules from stock market data
will bdiscussed


Bio
T. Y. Lin received his Ph. D. from Yale University and is
a professor of computer science at San Jose State University
and a BISC fellow at UC-Berkeley.
He is the founding president
of the International Rough Set Society,
and the leader of sig GrC.
He has been a faculty at various universities.
His current interests are in
data mining, data security,
rough set theory and granular computing (GrC).
