Re: street smarts code

I looked at this myself sometime ago and I believe the difficulty here is
the same as that of trying to code any of the classic (read "subjective")
patterns like the H&S, Triangles, wedges, flags, pennants, diamonds, and
others. If you can write rules for it great, you can go on and test but if
you can't nail it down precisely then you are better off visualizing. The
important thing of course is that you identify this type of wave formation
as it occurs and not well after the fact as most often happens with E-waves.

If you talked to Bill Wolfe he will tell you that he does not believe his
rules can be coded. He thinks of the wave as the "art" component in the
pattern recognition process and does not favor efforts to automate it. I
look at it as a derivative of the E-Wave and therefore somewhat subjective.
Bill disagrees claiming that 10 different experienced WW practicioners will
identify the same pattern the same way, unlike EW traders who contantly try
to figure out where they are in the count. I think if you have a few
thousand bucks in your education budget Bill will train you to use it. He is
a no nonsense guy and it may be money well spent if you like this type of
trading. I have no connection with him whatsoever and did not buy his
method.
