I'm having problems with the GlobalServer and Hyperfeed,
read through all the documentation and I still am stumped.
As traders, the most useful thing for us to be able to do is
to collect data for a symbol and test that data on a chart,
and have that same chart get updated in realtime.
If you have Hyperfeed, and you can't log onto the server because
of problems PC Quote is having, or because you logged on late,
you do not get "caught up" to the current time.
For instance, if its 10:30 AM, I would like to have the data from
market open to current on my chart when I connect. It doesn't
do me much good to have the data start from 10:30. I know if
you have a portfolio of 1000 stocks that might be a little hard,
but is seemed thats too much data to trade from anyway.
If you connect to something like IQ Chart, you are up to the
tick on what ever you want. Does Hyperfeed just not do this?
IQ Chart is $25 and Hyperfeed is $140+. But, it doesn't work
with the Globalserver.
What is worse is that Hyperfeed ends its data collection everyday at
12:40 PM, instead of like 1:10 PM. It doesn't seem to be time zone.
You can only specify local or exchange.
Also, if you have 30 days worth of data, you would like your system
to have that in the chart you are trading realtime from, not starting
from nothing everyday, especially when the Hyperfeed date is terrible,
incorrect and pretty much useless as say, 5 minute bars. At least you
could start the morning fresh with good data, hoping to god you can
connect
to hyperfeed and actually get data.
What am I missing?
Thanks,
David
