In order for TS to play sound from your external speakers, you need to go
into windows control panel, into sounds, and make sure you have a sound file
selected for "Default Sound". This is the alert sound that TS will use. If
it is turned off, then TS will just use the internal speaker.

Subject: Alert beep

Is there any way to control the "beep" sound that TS makes when it
changes market position or sets new stops?

I've already gone to Tools -> Options -> Attention. I've tried the
different settings of "triple beep" and not. As far as I can tell
from the TS manual, that's the only control you have over it.

On my W95 system, the beep was not great but at least noticeable. On
my new NT system, the beep is just a quiet "tick" that is barely
audible. It comes from the PC's internal speaker, instead of from
the soundcard's speakers, from which come all the "adjustable" sounds
like the "ding" and other sounds that NT makes. So I don't know any
way to control the volume, duration, sound, etc. of this little
"beep." Help?
