Dear Jim:
I've been using 2 monitors with TradeStation since I've had the program.
I tried using an Appian Graphics card but couldn't get any of them to work.
But that was probably due to some fluke in my Gateway computer. Next time
it's going to be a Dell.
I wound up with an STB 2-port MVP3D card. Which worked fine under Win95
because STB had software that allowed assigning windows to specific monitors.
Then came Win98 & STB assured me that the Win98 drivers would do just fine.
Like hell! Now I don't know which monitor a dialog box will open up on & it
sometimes even changes throughout the day.
I've been on STB to do something about it & they finally admitted they
weren't going to do anything but will be writing a new software program for
Win2000 (as if I'm stupid enough to go out and immediately buy a new
version of an operating system).
Needless to say, I won't be doing business with STB again unless I exhaust
all other options.
I'm no technie, but the little I do know is that multiple monitors (with
software that actually works) is a hit & miss affair & if you are going to
buy video cards, make sure you can return the card(s) without a horrendous
restocking fee. Some cards work with some monitors & not others in terms of
multiple monitors.
Plug-and-PLAY lives on! Thanks Bill!
Best of luck,
FPI
