Melody,
When I compared opening ticks w/ a fellow daytrader I noticed something
I'd never seen before: when I went to "Edit Price Data" on the first bar
of a 1 min chart for today (actually, the second bar since the 1st bar
seems to take me only up to the end of yesterday's close) I saw the
first tick recorded in my data window for 9:31am, but *before* that tick
(in the Edit Ticks window) were earlier ticks going back to 9:29am!
Why are there ticks before my "first bar", are these ticks being counted
by my indicators/systems, and why don't they show up on the O/H/L/C
reading in my Data Window when I click on my first 1 min bar of the day?
How can I reconcile these things so I *know* I'm getting the first
opening tick of the day *into my chart* (not just collected by the
server) and also how can I calibrate things so they all agree? It's
disconcerting thinking the opening tick is xxxx.xx when I see it on the
chart & in my Data Window, only to find out when I go to Edit Ticks that
it really isn't! Please help!
