THis has not happened to me (yet :-) ).
Risking stating the obvious, when you shut down the
server it tells you its storing ticks and saving
cashed information to disk, so if you shut down your
computer while this is going on some data will
probably get lost. So just make sure that the server
is completely shut down before you shut down your
computer.
