Offline server to online server

Thank you Andy and Finn Larson for replaying to my dilemma.

I first have to clear up some lingo that I used improperly from my first
post. When I said “Signal Online online server,” what I actually referring
to was the Signal server that TS installs in the initial installation if you
indicate that Signal is your data provider. Crucial wording was neglected
on my behalf and I apologize.

Finn, the url that you gave me (http://www.ocea.es/its/home.htm) has a
program that is comparable to one that I am trying get working. It’s
purpose is the same, which is to link a internet data feed into TS via it’s
online server, as opposed to the offline server where settings such as
symbol universe and com ports, etc., are changed. My internet data feed is
from AT Financial which has a DDE link feature which is required in order
have this sort of setup. The program I am testing about 1/10th of the cost
of Ominicom ($194.50 + Transaction fee of $3.50) and was developed by a
gentleman in the U.K.

My understanding of your response Finn is that I have to reinstall TS in
order to get the online Signal server? I want to be perfectly clear since
my last resort will be reinstalling TS. I’ve looked at the installation
instructions for TS (specifically page 23) where it describes the process of
choosing a Omega Server but doesn’t tell you if there is an option to change
from offline server to a Signal Server. So it seems like your assessment
was correct.

But there was a .exe file in the “Prog” subdirectory called “Or_sig” (as I
mentioned in previous post) which seems to be a online server of some sort.
When I launch the program, this server searches for the data from the com
port settings that I had specified in the offline server. I’m not sure if I
’m just adding to the confusion ;-)

If anyone has any experience changing from the initial installation of the
Offline option for the Omega Server to one that is real-time data provider,
any insight would be much appreciated.
