This morning I received the employment numbers from BMI at precisely 7:41am
CST (i.e. *** 11 minutes late ***). I received the message (below) about an
hour later. I don't recall reading a headline such as this before; they
must have been swamped with complaints.

I understand the bit about "heavy market conditions" but stocks aren't even
open at that time. Consequently, I can only conclude that they're blowing
smoke (sort of like their "sunspots" message). Their service is spiralling
downward........ it's gotten out of control and all they seem to be able to
do is offer excuses.

Did anyone get the numbers when they were released? How about those using
DTN? Any feedback would be appreciated. TIA.

Best regards,
Jim

Important information for BMI Subscribers regarding News on BMI:

If you currently use either the BMI news service or one of
our other intra-day news services, like Dow Jones, you may
have occasionally noticed a delay in receiving the latest
news updates. During heavy market conditions, we prioritize
our network to optimize the delivery of RealTime Stocks and
Futures. If the market activity surpasses what we can re-
broadcast in a timely manner, we will hold off sending the
news services until the market volumes recede. We typically
see this at market open and sometimes at the close of
trading as well. For the majority of the market day, the
timeliness of news is usually OK.

Each major exchange is predicting even greater trading
volumes over the next few years and with a fixed and limited
bandwidth, we don't anticipate being able to avoid an
increase in this type of prioritization in the future. The
impact of rising market volumes is taxing every vendor in
the industry and especially those that deliver data through
a fixed pipeline, i.e. cable or satellite.

If the timeliness of news is critical to your trading, we
highly recommend you look into one of our Internet services,
Signal Online or StockEdge Online. These systems utilize the
latest in DBC technology to "push" quotes to you via the
Internet...........
