No, it's not transferrable. And no, it's not illegal, just cheap,
craven, and customer-unfriendly.
As with virtually all software, you have NOT "bought" TradeStation.
You have purchased a limited lease. Read the fine print on almost
any large software package and you'll see the same weasel words.
The difference is, most software companies are reasonable and allow
customers to transfer the lease to another customer. Omega is too
money-grubbing to permit this. They demand that every person who
wants to give TS a try purchase it directly from Omega, at their full
retail price. And if that person determines (as many do) that
trading is not for them, then tough s**t -- they can't resell the
expensive product to someone else and recoup some of their investment.
Which, of course, makes people reluctant to invest in TS, and causes
current and potential customers to think that Omega is more
interested in gouging people than in creating satisfied customers.
And I think they're right.
