Displaced Moving Averages

I was interested in the time frame which is being mentioned
relative to DMA concepts.

In 1972 HewlettPackard sponsored a contest for the best user
article on applications for an HP9820 Desktop "Calculator"
(it really was a computer with about 16k of ROM and 2K registers
which could be used for programming and data.

My contribution (for which I won first prize -- an HP45 CALCULATOR)
was titled: STOCK MARKET ANALYSIS SYSTEM .

The following is the INDEX of my submission which subsequently
became the manual for a commercial version of the system which I
sold for $1500.00 . Just think what that is today.

	INDEX
INTORDUCTION 1
SYSTEM DESCRIPTION 3
PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS
	DATA (Data Entry) 6
	LABL (Chart Labeling) 8
	PLOT (Price/Volume Plotting) 9
	SPEC (PSD Analysis) 10
	WAVE ("wave" Analysis/Display 13
	PRED (Price Predictio) 15
	MOVA (Moving Average Analysis) 17
	DBLX (Double Exponential Smoothing)	18
	TPLX (Triple Exponential Smoothing)	20
	COMB (Data re-sampling) 21
CONCLUSION 22

The interesting thing to note is that almost everything that
J. R. Hurst (Profit Magic of Stock Transaction Timing) seemed
to consider important was covered in this set of programs and
the MOVA program had the ability to advance or delay a moving
average by any amount desired.

This system provided a significant amount of my livelyhood
until 1976 when I bought controlling of the company I now
operate.

Kinda telling my age I guess.
