Dennis,

I wouldn't use Displaced Moving Averages as a mechanical system. 
But then I wouldn't use a mechanical system (g).

Displaced Moving Averages are a great trading tool, ask a trader
who uses them. If you already have a dependable trend indicator, you
may not need Displace Moving Averages.
