The potential ambiguities that you mentioned are paramount if you're trying
to establish an accurate baseline comparison.  
        
One way you could pin down some specific comparisons is to analyze the top
ten Volume Stocks from each feed -- CSCO, CPQ, INTC, MSFT, etc., etc. --
These Stocks are notorious for tick discrepancies each day because of their
high volume and volatility.  This way you would be assured that both feeds
are tracking the same Symbols and you would eliminate the unknowns in your
initial analysis.
