Re: system resources too low, close open windows

I have a 15,000 symbol portfolio running on Win 98 with 128 meg, and I can run T/S all
week without a problem. A program called System Monitor, which comes with Win 98, and
can display aspects of memory usage. I monitor a parameter called "Unused physical
memory". At present I have 36.2 Meg of "unused physical memory" so I'm presently using
91.8 Meg of physical memory (128 - 36.2). If I were running with 64 Meg of memory I
could still run, but would see excessive paging of memory, possibly bogging down the
computer.

This unused physical memory will slowly decrease during the week. I had to reboot last
night for an unrelated reason so I have 36.2 Meg of unused physical memory available after
running one day. I opened an additional workspace and my unused physical memory dropped
to 36.1 Meg. I closed TradeStation charting and my unused physical memory jumped to
40.6 Meg.

Win 98 is said to be much better at memory management than Win 95.
