>I thought the idea was to start the server and charting on one machine,
>then start another server and charting on the second machine, then
>shut down the charting on one machine and the server on the other
>machine. Somehow, the tstation.ini references, etc., must have
>been set up for the one server to know about the other charting.
i installed a ts on two networked computer's then after remapping the
hardrives i deleted the server on one machine and the charting on the other.
then i respecified in the ts ini of the computer that had the charting
module that the server was now at the remapped hardrive and not on the
original position. then you must still start the server first one whatever
machine then the charting. in fact you can mix and match servers and
charting. example you can run a 2.0 server and use a 3.0 charting, other
variations may be possible but i know this one worked for sure.
another trick is to have the server running on one machine and then delete
the entire directory where ts is at. the results is that you are left with
only the files that are necessary to run the server. this doesn't work
the same for charting as it does the server.
>If I come across the original article(s), I'll repost them. I recall
>the author talking as though he'd actually made it work.
it did work actually for years.
