A BIG thank you to Dennis Holverstott, for his guidance of 1st June 1997,
paraphrased as follows:-

REGISTRY Back-Up
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
make a .bat file, to be run from the win95 DOS command prompt :-
====================================================
regedit /e c:\backup.reg
{this exports a backup of your registry to the file c:\backup.reg ~ this
file will get backed up to your other HD {and/or Tape/CD}   }
After you have done a restore, after Murphy has struck, as he WILL :-
regedit /c c:\backup.reg
This creates a new registry from c:\backup.reg
Reboot the system, and with a bit of luck all will be back to normal !
==================================

I do a weekly backup of whole system [abt 900 MB] on 2 gig Iomega DITTO Tape
Cartridge, which takes about 6 hours including compare.

Recently, the DITTO backup has started refusing to backup REGISTRY with
error message saying not possible to access Registry system files.

Supposedly, something has 'flipped' to make the Registry files HIDDEN ??

Has anyone any idea how to fix this ??

Thanks  :)
