With regards to using your delete key -- take your pick. Without the
bashsers you could either spend an hour each day deleting the countless
advertisements for absolutely useless products and services that would be
repeatedly posted on this list. Or you can spend considerably less time
deleting some rather entertaining and carefully worded (in French),
PG13-level bashing to chase the advertisers who violate the lists's
advertising rules or at least let them know they can't just spam the hell
out of the list.
Without the bashers you might as well call this list the Omega Spam List.

Looks to me like the spammers are taking over this list under the guise of
providing helpful information! When one checks the web pages referenced by
the spammer, one finds a pitch for books, systems, or services. I'm sure I'm
far from the only one who got very tired of deleting the attacks and
counterattacks resulting from the BE spamming episode. The surest way to
drive the real contributors from this list is to allow the spamming and
resultant attacks/counterattacks to continue!
