Metastock's Formula Builder is a bit like using cell formulas in Excel and
you can put formulas in several columns and reference across columns. The
only conditionals allowed are nested if statements which can do the job but
are not as easy to work with as if...then. At first blush, it seems pretty
limited but you can do a lot with it if you work at it, just as you can do a
lot of EL in SC if you make extensive use of functions. Metastock can not
begin to handle the really complex stuff you can do in Easy Language nor
does it deal well with multiple data series on the same chart. Aside from
those two limitations, Metastock is a good package and the company is
responsible. Can't really comment on the OLE capabilities or what knowledge
would be required however I'd be certain that the performance would be up to
par before using it in real-time.
