Re: Trading discussion

when i first started trading two decades ago, i position traded,
mainly due to the lack of readily available intraday quotes. cqg
changed that forever with quotes to the masses, although at a high
price. so, i switched from position trading to daytrading.

why? i was psychologically unable to hold positions overnight and days
and weeks at a time.

so, yes, in the beginning, the psych factor weighed heavily in my
decision to daytrade.

but i equally believe that in managing opm, one must position trade or
at least short term swing trade to be successful.

Did anyone give any thought to their own personal psyche before
choosing trading timeframes/methodologies or do most of us just dive
in, somewhere, anywhere, suck it and see?

Then, if it doesn't work out for us, do we immediately (perhaps, too
soon)assume that the loss was inevitable because of the timeframe or
methodology?
