The turnover in L2 trading is as high as in futures due to the same
reason.
The only difference is that the blowout period is shorter in futures.
The shortest blowout is in Options then Currencies then Futures then
Stocks then Mutual funds. All based on leverage and complexity.
However you can make money in all of those if you are a good
systematic trader.
