If you are looking for real-time trading software, you might have a look at
Ensign Windows which runs with either BMI or DTN - not internet. There is no
upfront cost, just a $30 monthly rental (month to month, not a lease). The
new compiler in the 32 bit version makes it possible to build some pretty
strong systems.
