I'm running a 100 Pentium machine with 24MB of ram. Which of the
following two options would be the most cost effective way of
increasing the speed in which TS opens and saves workspaces?

1) Installing a 200 Processor Overdrive.
2) Increasing the ram.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Bob the answer is neither. Opening and saving operations are primarily a
function of your hard disk transfer speed and BIOS firmware. So first, get a
faster, that is, install a new 1.2 Gbyte or larger, hard drive. Then look at your
disk information during the boot-up operation. You want to see the BIOS screen
indicating your new hard drive is operating in Mode 2 or better yet, 3 or 4. If it
is not, than you will have to replace your motherboard to allow your new hard
drive to operate at its full speed.
