S&P 500 Historical Data

Does anyone have a long history of the S&P 500 in terms of daily data. I see
different information posted about historic S&P 500 performance when people
make claims about their performance vs. the S&P. It would be nice just to
have the data, be able to plot it, and also be able to look at any time
period to see what the actual performance was vs. what someone claims it
was. This would make a good initial filter of anybody's story-telling of how
they performed vs. the S&P.

Also, does anyone know of web sites that have long histories of the S&P
performance, the Dow, etc. Some of the sites recently mentioned on the list
have recent performance, but nothing over a number of years.
