I am very happy with Fidelity.

They have checks, ATM and credit cards, telephone and Internet moving of
funds, online bill paying, integration with Quicken for balancing accounts.

And they pay money market rates on balances, a lot better than the 1% my
bank pays.

Plus on-line balances, transaction history, etc., from the web page.

Their brokerage service for "frequent traders" (called "Spartan") is very
competitive.

And 24 hour, very responsive, telephone support from an 800 number.

This is the future of banking in my opinion. But no local branches (with
high overhead) so you still may need a bank account.

You can even download forms to open accounts in pdf format from their web
site.

The other major companies are probably similar.
