Re: Mutual Fund Rotation

There is an excellent book on this topic entitled "The Investor's
Guide to Fidelity Funds: Winning Strategies for Mutual Fund
Investing". The book was originally written in 1989 when Fidelity
Selects were the only true sector funds around, but the concepts
discussed are applicable to any group of funds that you want to switch
among. It contains a detailed discussion of the statistical rationale
behind the system and an approach to evaluating groups of funds on a
weekly basis, either by long-hand or via spreadsheet (even contains
spreadsheet code).

Last I heard it was in limited printing and only available by calling
800-423-4893. I think it costs about $25.

The usual disclaimers apply. I successfully worked with this concept
for several years in the early 90's, but then decided my time was
better spent on other trading endeavor's. I still actively switch a
portion of my retirement account money, but I use a newsletter service
to call the shots for me (much less work - and probably more
successful in the long run).
