Microsoft released a patch today for a problem with Internet Explorer which
could allow a hacker access to your computer files.


Affected software includes:

Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0, 4.01 and 4.01 SP1 on
Windows NT 4.0, Windows 95

Microsoft Windows 98, with integrated Internet Explorer
(version 4.01 SP1)

Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 and 4.01 for Windows 3.1
and Windows NT 3.51

Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 and 4.01 for Macintosh
Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.x

Or, if you use Windows 98, you can get a patch by using using the Windows
Update.  Just start Windows Update from the Windows Start Menu and click on
"Product Updates."  Then follow the directions to allow the computer to
check for needed "critical updates".
