The issue isn't whether or not level II service is useful or not. Of
course it is. As one said, it's difficult to imagine day trading
stocks without it.
As for whether soemone can jump in a scalp or otherwise daytrade is
another question. If you can handle 1-2 point fades, then more power
to you. If you can't, then you might be throwing your money away.
MM are well enough capitalized, they are into the stock long term, and
they usually have a retail book behind them in with some supply and
demand just in case. They work together and are very interested in
punishing daytraders, whether you're scalping or not. They know who
you are, and they know who plays their way on their stocks.
Those are just the facts as of today in the OTC.
