I'm not looking for any secrets rather the general process you use. Not the
blueprints to your house but rather do you install the plumbing before the
wiring and so on. Mark, you pointed out the other day that what looks good
on a chart probably won't work in real trading. If that's the case then what
do you use to begin the
process of system development? Sounds like looking at indicators and charts
would be nearly worthless. Your input and that of others would be helpful to
many.

I. System Building 101

 1. The #1 Building Block: Data
    a. The data must be correct, if the data is wrong the results will be
wrong.
    b. The data you test on must be the same, as the data you trade on.
    c. This procedure of preprocessing data is a pain for futures but it
must be done.

 2. The #2 Building Block: Psychological Attitude
    a. The researchers mind must be open and free from misconceptions.
    b. A clean slate and the attitude that anything is possible must
preserver.
    c. Tenacious commitment and a passionate love for the process of
discovery.
