I use HyperSnap. It allows you to select either a window or any region on
the screen and saves in many formats. I save in GIF format as those are
fairly compact and are recognized by most email viewers.
The process takes seconds:
> Show the window you want to capture
> Launch HyperSnap
> Select the "Capture" menu
> Select Full Screen, Window, Active Window, Region, etc.
(It will switch back to the window you want to capture.)
> Click on the window.
> Select Save As from the File menu and type in a name and save the GIF file.
> Attach the file to the email message.

get a registered version.
No connection, etc., just a happy customer.
