I just completed an extensive sampling of the data offerings of various
vendors. The overall best FOR TICK DATA, IMHO, is clear: it's CQG. (Some
other vendors might be better for end of day; other vendors may be better
for specific and/or common symbols and/or price.)
But if you're looking for TICK and you want to examine a COHERENT and
EXTENSIVE data catalog, it's got to be CQG.
- Both Genesis and Tickdata have equally coherent data catalogs and
product offerings but their data product offerings are not nearly as
extensive as is CQG's in terms of symbols and trading sessions offered.
- For an example of a terrific price deal on a specialty set of symbols,
try LIFFEData's Sterling product. (Reviewed by Sweeny in the July issue of
S&C.)
I'd appreciate hearing if anyone has a different set of opinions.....
Usual disclaimer: I have no personal, business, or other kind of
relationship with any of the vendors noted above.
