Omega will be interested to hear this (they monitor the list). Someone who
posted a FS on usenet reported to the list that Omega's lawyers got in touch
with him and demanded the name of the buyer or proof that he had not transferred
the license - created quite a stirr on the list. Omega licenses can not be
transferred. Purchasers don't seem to be aware of the highly unusual transfer
prohibition _before_ plunking down several thousand dollars. Imagine if the fine
print in your car sales contract prohibited you from reselling the car! Also,
TS4 is a bomb with detonation date = midnight of 12/31/99 and a unlicensed
purchaser would not be able to obtain the <promised> Y2K fix from Omega. In
fact, the Y2K thing will be a bonanza for Omega since all the transfers, copies,
and "3rd party" dongles will cease to function. The bonanza assumes of course
that these users don't go elsewhere for software.
