RE: Win 3.1?

Peter,

Microsoft went to great lengths to allow Win 3.1 applications to run under
Windows 95. In the Windows directory you will find a file called WIN.INI
(make a copy BEFORE you change anything in this file).

In WIN.INI you will find a section named [Compatibility].
To the left of the "=" you see the name of a program and to the right is a
hexadecimal code. Each bit in the code causes Win 95 to behave like Win 3.1
for the program specified. It is very likely that the right code will allow
your program to run under Win 95.

Now the bad news, I can not find the description of the codes. I don't
think that it was part of the standard documentation. Maybe someone else
has the descriptions available.

Subject: Win 3.1?

Hi

I have some "new" trading software that needs to run under win3.1. I am
currently using win95, and would like to run both win3.1 apps and win95
apps on the same computer, and if possible simultaneously. Can this be
done and how? If not what do you suggest as an approach ?

Thanks in advance

Peter
