a couple of questions;
--Datek account? Not familiar with it. This is a brokerage
account?
Datek account; Yes, brokerage, Internet, Discount, supplies free
realtime quotes to PPl with accounts, and when I signed up you didnt
even have to send them any money.

Not the only way, but the only FREE way that I know of.
--can you put these qwuotes into a charting program as well as a
ticker tape?
Not intraday or realtime, but quotejava can call a page from Yahoo that
has all your issues on one page, with detailed data including a chart,
Very slick for visual comparisons, You could probably paste a list of
issues into a yahoo search window and get the same results. And there
is another way, using this prog called Neurostock, more crippleware, a
neural net that has a downloader module and gets 1000 days of historical

for the record the datafiles are reversed to the tradestation format,
meaning that the latest day is at the top of the file instead of the
bottom, Excel can chart it no problem, but who wants to flip 300 issues
every day in a spreadsheet in order to import into tradestation?, Pay
the 20 a month (plus database fees) and get the quotes from a vendor.
--how close tor eal time are the quotes?
Ever been to the cme realtime site? http://www.cme.com You can get
live futures quotes from them, used to be free, havent used it for a
while. I compared it to my bmi cable feed and alot of times the internet
feed was faster. As for the Datek feed I have nothing to compare it to,
since I don't recieve stock quotes via BMI

Sure there are alot of vendors who want you to give them money.
