In Future Source, try F9, then Setup, then Misc, then flag off Safety
(Save all Data Each Minute). I have real time corrections set to Yes, without
any problems. With safety off, you still wouldn't lose much data in the
event of a lockup, maybe 5, 6 minutes worth. (I have had only one lockup
in the year and a half of this setup, losing 3 minutes of data. So others
may have more experience with this.)
Before this solves the problem, consider other likely causes. First, if you run
both FS and TS, as I do, I wouldn't be comfortable with less than 64 Meg of Ram,
200 Mhz. Next, if you are running Excel or other such, it really bogs. Then consider
if you have too many workspaces, with too many windows, all open at the same time. But
the biggest slowdown I have seen is to load your charts with too many "days back"
on any chart less than 3 minutes. I use only 3 days on shorter timeframes intraday.
Then I just format for the greater number of days, after market if I want to
do some backtesting. My system runs very fast this way, up to about 7 workspaces
open at the same time, with average of 6 windows for each workspace.
