Re: Changing Universe Settings in Chartscanner

Peter,
I had the exact same problem and Bill Brower gave me the solution in
his magazine TS Express ( a plug with no shame-- not affiliated blah, blah)
. There are two symbol universes in TS. One is accessed from the
server/tools/symbol universe setup, the other is found under the
server/tools/DOWNLOADER/tools/symbol universe setup. To make changes for
EOD data users from outside vendors, like yourself and myself, use the
Downloader route.

Making the changes you have two choices: 1) Overwrite the Omega symbol and
symbol number with the CSI symbol and symbol number ( EX: JY 65 becomes U6
262) or 2) Create a new contract using the CSI info with the contract
specs etc.. The first solution is easy but it means that the old symbol is
gone for data vendors using Omega's symbols. I created new ones.

OMEGA BASH: This silly problem arose because Omega insisted that the data
have a 2 letter symbol so that vendors like CSI had to convert their normal
symbol to conform to a 2 letter Omega world.
I feel like we have all had to put up with a little silliness.
