There will be a general improvement in speed performance doing many things,
because even with lots of memory, Windows routinely swaps program and data
modules from memory to disk and back while running large application
programs. The more memory you have, the less often that will occur.
The amount of memory you need for reasonable performance depends heavily on
the version of Windows you are using. You need much more memory with
Windows 95 or Windows NT than with Windows 3.11 for similar performance.
