Your "piece" was informative and entertaining. Thank you. However, there
are two sides to a story and I believe we need give credit where credit is
due. So here goes...
1) Beleive it!! Omega Research is the most agrogant software
company out there! This is nothing new... this has been an issue for
quite some time! Do a little research on the open news-groups
through Deja-News, and you would have easily dicovered the "Gestapo"
type tactics of Omega Research long ago.....

I don't have time to do that research, I'm to busy trading profitably with
systems I've designed using Tradestation.
Grant it, build 4.0 has a long way to go towards being perfect (I've cussed
at Omega more than once), but it does the job of charting and collecting
data well. The chart module is pretty solid in terms of GP's. I don't get
hardly any.
2) I personally purchased their TS 4.0 / OS 1.2 package last year!
AS SOON as I found out about this "POLICY", I IMMEDIATELY RETURNED
IT... So glad I still had 1 week left on that 30-day thing!!
SO, MR. CRUZ / OMEGA RESEARCH, YOU CAN CHALK THAT ONE UP AS A LOST
SALE DUE TO YOUR ARROGANCE.... Unfortunately I couldn't send my
SuperCharts back, or else I would have!
Not that I think Omega is any great software company or anything,
because for sure it isn't.... I think we all know that! But, I would
have bought it only because it was, the key word here is WAS, a
"standard"..... I truly believe that just like IOMEGA & NETSCAPE,
Omega research will find a way to "Fu__ things up" and piss away there
dominance & market share!
AND PERSONALLY, I CAN WAIT TO SEE IT HAPPEN!!
Let's face it, this "WOW" thing may turn out OK.... maybe even
acceptable! NOT to worry though.... with the "out of control
equities & futures markets", not to mention the internet, online
trading, and the information age in general... there will be more
contenders... I think a lot more! The only problem, it may be a
couple of years!
SO, quite frankly.... I wouldn't worry about that Y2K thing with
Omega's software.... They're not going to be around that long

Tradestation, 3 years ago because it charted in windows real time like no
other software program could (I migrated from Metastock RT) not mention
Easy Language. Since then I've seen them come from behind to beat out
Equis and just continue to grow. If their software is that bad, how has Mr
Cruz been able to build such a huge company in a relatively vertical
market? The fact is, it's not that bad. In fact it manages a realtively
complicated process pretty damn well despite the occasional GP.
They could do a lot more to improve their software and make it more
reliable for traders but it's not bad now.
I admire him for that. I wouldn't be so quick to count him out. I also
admire Gates for what he's accomplished. He's continued to grow Microsoft
despite all the negavtivity towards him. His company is so big, he's
larger than life, he's a legned, and we all know how that makes us feel.
You can't blame Cruz for protecting market share. If I had software like
this, I know I'd be looking for ways to copy protect it. I've been in the
PC business for 17 years as amatuer and professional. I know people love
to copy (and sell) software if they can. For most, it's just their nature.
I don't like it but at the same time I understand why he's doing it and I
can't fault him for that.

format of their Easy Langugae file so that WOW can't read it - encrypt it
or something like that. It wouldn't be hard to do yet might protect
Omega's marketshare. I wouldn't be to quick to trust WOW out of the gate.
4) Oh ya.... While I'm at it, If we, as list-members, are going to
pursue worthless wastes of time such as this THREAD is now, and so may
others I have to pass over..... DON'T RE-COPY THE WHOLE DAMN MESSAGE

surprised, if this is an intentional way of making their stock take a
nose dive, simply so they can buy it all back for pennies on the
dollar!! Think about it.... I wouldn't put it past them!
ALSO.... We all know they made more in the sale of their STOCK, than
they ever would have in selling their CRAPPY software!
Sorry Omega... It's true... by programming standards... IT'S CRAP!!
Oh ya.... sorry, I'm not a solution provider or anything else to you,
so you can't bully me around like you did with so many of these other
guys!
