Your point is well taken, but I wonder if would you be willing to spend 6
months-- writing several letters and dealing with two attorneys, simply to
get satisfaction that your $100 toaster was replaced or fixed?
    
If you read the original Post, you will see that the guy who had the problem
with Dell went to enormous ends over 6 months in an attempt to rectify a
minor problem that could have been solved with a couple of phone calls or a
visit to a local computer store-- all to replace a $50 item that is rarely
needed-- 
        
It's not an issue of whether or not the poor down-trodden consumer was
screwed-over once again by the greed-stricken and insensitive Goliath, it's
simply a matter of what is your time worth?  
      
Personally, I would prefer to spend my time on more productive endeavors...
