Phillip York's work on Omegabug.doc file is outdated (when version TS 3.5 was
the current TS version).
This document is a considerable work, but it has also a lot of bugs in it
(never fixed!).
This topic was one of the horsebattle between (modestly) myself and other
members of the Omega List.
I do not want to start again with this problem, and readers interested may
read the Omega-List thread about this in the Omega-List archives (see "BUGS IN
OMEGA BUG.DOC").
I do not want to open again such disputes that enforced the sheriff to eat all
of his law attributes (but not the horse).
TS is what it is, but the lobbying (against Omega) of a few people on this
list (a constant) again and again is becoming annoying.
Always the same names and the same diatribes, even if there is often a part of
truth behind, it's quite enough.
Their new hobby seems to be the Window on WallStreet "Pro" software (still to
come with EL features).
I sincerely hope that this one will meet their expectations and that they will
leave this list very soon to play with their new toy.
Concerning the Easy Language portability, this is not so easy due to their
technical choices (the current language is close of Metastock).
EL allowing a lot of things that the macrolanguage (like WOW) do not allow, I
guess that there will be unpredictable results when comparing TS and WOW (EL
has internal security barriers, undocumented).
Not to speak of what will happen when Omega will upgrade its Easy language
like it was the case from TS3.5 to TS4...
Even DLL calls from EL and WOW will show problems for the same reasons due to
the Omega API documentation.
So, this is urgent now to open a WOWPRO-List...somewhere.
The WOW server is certainly intersting, but without symbol universe, I do not
see how to buid some trading systems referring to time sessions.
The new TS5 Omega server
in
modern 32bits servers, so I'll stick with the current one until the TS5
availability.
One year ago, or so, the topic of interest of the minority (majority when
considering to write messages on Omega List) was POWER TRADER.
Same discurse, same expectations ,same frustrated (few) people, same
predictions on Omega death due to this new competitor, expected to be the best
of the best.
Omega is still alive.
Power Trader should be also.
Who has heard of Power Trader since this date ?
Sincerely,
Pierre Orphelin
