Further to my initial response, the "# Equis -
Helper Darvas buy" formula called by the Darvas exploration has 5 PREVs, and the
sell formula a couple less. The exploration also has a PREV in column E. You may
also be loading an excessive number of records, though I would caution against
switching to the "Load Minimum Records" as that could possibly produce
invalid results (I have not tested this possibility).
By removing all PREVs from the said formulas I
have managed to reduce the scan time of 300 securities (1000 bars)
from 52 seconds down to 11 seconds. I haven't looked at the other
explorations and the related formulas but I suspect that the situation is much
the same with them also. I notice that the Darvas system uses the Intellistop
formulas and I believe that these also include a PREV, but probably not one that
can be removed by alternative MFL coding.
