When you are looking at dividend stocks, don't forget about
bonds--muni, junk and corporate, and don't forget preferreds,
convertibles, oil trusts and REITS. If you don't want to own them
directly, you can use closed end funds and etfs. Don't buy bonds with
an ETF. Use closed end funds so there is management ability to pick
and choose the bonds. (ETF indexes have to use the junk bonds in the
index and therefore, have a larger default risk.)

Some closed end funds use return of capital to maintain dividends so
you'll have to do some research.
