I know too that Premium Data is an excellent
source. I have to put their symbols up also.
Hi Cameron,
Reuters also has other symbols without the x for breadth
stats. I work quite a bit with composite data and these are a part of my
daily compilation routines. Go to this page:
The eSignal symbols are also there.
Hi Lionel, I added the Max() functions to remove any
divide by zero errors that came up. If there were no zeros in the data,
these additions would not be needed. Reuters data is not perfect, so these
changes were needed. The X.security name is the exact spelling
of the symbol that I am looking for. I don't understand why the
NASDAQ / NYSE volume / breadth data starts X.symbol, but it does.
Cheers, Cameron

Thanks for
this code. Can you clarify the code or point me in the right direction to find
it.?
For example
why “Max”?
Why
“X.security name” I am not familiar with the X. being needed.
Thanks
Lionel

This is the code that I use to create the McClellan
Summation Index. This indicator can be plotted on any
chart. A1:=Max(Security("C:\MetaStock Data\BM
DATA\X.NYSE- A",O),1); D1:=Max(Security("C:\MetaStock Data\BM
DATA\X.NYSE-D",O),1); A2:=
((A1-D1)/(Max(1,A1+D1)))*1000; M5:=Mov(A2,39,E); M10:=Mov(A2,19,E); Cum(M10-M5)

Thanks for
this information. I am amazed at how rapidly you replied.
I am
trying to set up a composite security for (advances-declines), should be
easy enough. When I try to set up the composite and enter a name for it, the
program automatically assigns the ticker symbol for advances to the composite
and simply plots the advances. I tried to change the symbol and got a message
that this can’t be done with a composite.
In the
past, when using earlier versions of Metastock, I had no trouble creating and
using composites.
