Hi Lee,

In your templates folder look for the one named Popular. I attached a chart with that template and I could write 2 pages describing each point for the hourly S&P 500 chart. But basically I added a 3 period (simple) moving average with candlesticks and changed the background to black and gave indicators some color. It is not perfect but if you study the chart and template's indicators real-time you may find this is all you need.

Notice how after the close of a period if the price is above or below the moving average and/or if indicators may signal at same time a change in direction. Drawing trendlines on indicators can also help. You may even be surprized how well this works on other time frames as well as other things worth trading.

But practice, practice, practice while you study, study, study. You may even want to get a book or 2 on trading with RSI, STOCH, MACD, MOVING AVERAGES, TRENDLINES, etc. I am sure someone in this group could or have suggested a few books that may help.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good foundation indicator
that works on the S&P500? It seems to be the hardest one to crack. I'm

The S&P500 characteristically has a lot of break outs with
consolidation periods.

Otherwise are there any books that people can recommend on any gurus
that promote a system that works on the S&P500?
