I see your point here.
But the condition in my code..
x:=Year()>lastYear OR (Year()=lastYear AND (Month()>lastMonth OR
(Month()=lastMonth AND DayOfMonth() >=lastDay) ));
should make x = 1 (True) for the last year and 0 (False) everywhere else. And I am picking lowest(L) within the period where x = 1 ( or true), which in turn is last one year.
I am still scratching my head here..

The original code was:
lo:=LastValue( (LowestSince( 1,y OR i,L)))*(BarsSince( x>0)>= -1);
Yours was:
y:= ValueWhen(1, x=1, Lowest(L));
The original asked for lowest since certain conditions were true.
Yours simply asked for the lowest low.
