I start with
http://888options.com/resources/literature/files/doelo.xls
and then clean it up. The first time is very time consuming. I remove
all stocks that are no longer trading or have gone off the regular
exchanges, etc.
Once I have the first clean list, I cross match succesive lists (they
don't come out on a regular schedule)via vlookup in excel. That leads
to "I have they don't" and "They have I don't" lists" (relatively
small numbers) which I can check out by dumping the tickers into a
Yahoo portfolio. I maintain spreadsheets with of Invalid Tickers. It
makes the cross matching easier as it takes a while for the changes
to appear. In part that's because as long as any option of a stock is
being traded, the stock doesn't come off the list.
If you want to stay more current you can get regular e-mail alerts to
new listings. The choice is on the second page of the choices.
http://www.theocc.com/market/occ_e_mail_alerts_form.jsp
You should still probably do the cross matching whenever the doleo
list is updated.:
