How long would it take to get current quotes on 5000 stock issues?

Finance efficiently
I for several years now have been getting my Metastock data from HQuote
Pro v6 which downloads data efficiently in Metastock format from Yahoo
Finance. It allows creation of multiple portfolios of your choice. In
each portfolio, you add the symbols you want to store in that
portfolio, for example ETF's. You specify the begin date. Then you
can download data for all portfolios and all symbols with one click, or
choose a directory of your choice to download. It will also scan for
existing Metastock data and import it into the downloader so you don't
have to create all the portfolios and symbols. There is a limited free
trial of about 30 days. If you want to purchase it as I did, it costs
$59 one time, and all program updates are free thereafter. I used to
download data from Primate Software, and the data was at least
$120/year and it wasn't very clean. By comparison, the Yahoo data I
get via HQuote Pro appears to be very clean. Check it out at
www.hquotes.com.
